MoonWalk, A “Giant Step” In Refinish: PPG

PPG launched its MoonWalk colour dispenser last month in Madrid to a select group of clients and some of the European press. PPG says MoonWalk reduces product waste, maximises workshop productivity and will revolutionise the operation of body shops.

PPG says it took the company three years to develop the paint colour preparation machine, with the aim of reducing labour-intensive times and save product through automation of the mixing process.

“Less waste, more productive working time, no mess in the mixing room. That immediately gives more efficiency, quality, productivity and satisfied employees to every damage repair company,” said MoonWalk Project Manager Alban d’Epenoux, who is also Refinish Sales Manager at PPG CEMTA (Central and Eastern Europe, Middle East, Turkey and Africa).

The standard package includes a TouchMix computer with the most recent PaintManager software, an “ultra-accurate” scale and a label printer. Installation, training and a three-year warranty on the mixing machine and support are also provided. The use of materials is optimised thanks to the PPG drip-free, accurate mixing method, while the mixed varnish is immediately ready for use.
