Window To Assist Formation Of Skilled Migration List Closes Soon

Jobs and Skills Australia is calling for stakeholder submissions to help develop government advice regarding the Core Skills Occupations List (CSOL).

The CSOL defines the core skills that Australia needs to attract as part of the temporary skilled migration system. Jobs and Skills Australia has identified roles which are “in” and “out” of the CSOL, but also has a list that is “targeted for consulting”. This means that the department is seeking submissions from relevant industry participants on why they think certain roles should be listed.

Several roles important to the automotive repair industry, such as panel beaters, vehicle painters, vehicle body builders and mechanics are on the “targeted for consultation list”.

Businesses seeking to support the body repair trade through migrant employees can respond through the three options available on the department’s website:

  • Complete the survey questions
  • Complete the survey questions and upload a separate submission
  • Upload a separate submission only

The survey is open until 10 May 2024, and submissions can be lodged until 5:00pm AEST on 31 May 2024.
