Strong Line Up For New Show CAPAS‏

The Chengdu International Trade Fair for Automotive Parts and Aftermarket Services (CAPAS) has announced that the Sichuan Council of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT-Sichuan) will join the show as a new co-organiser.

This strong alliance together with the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, Automotive Sub-Council (CCPIT-Auto), Messe Frankfurt (Shanghai) Co Ltd,helps to position the show as an important annual event.

CAPAS, which makes its debut from 21 – 23 July 2014 at the Chengdu Century City New International Exhibition & Convention Center, is a one-stop trade platform in Southwest China covering the three main automotive industry sectors of Parts & Components, Repair & Maintenance as well as Accessories & Tuning.

With its abundant local resources, CCPIT-Sichuan will also organise a special product zone called Sichuan Auto Parts Zone which is expected to attract many local key auto parts manufacturers and suppliers who will showcase their latest products and technologies in an exhibition space of 1,500 sqm. At the zone exhibitors will also be able to expand their sales channels, make contact with the local end user market and strengthen their brand image.

Commenting on the new trade fair, Mr Li Gang, Chairman of CCPIT-Sichuan said: “There are more than 400 automotive and auto parts manufacturers in Sichuan Province, making the auto parts industry one of Sichuan’s most important manufacturing sectors. I am pleased that CCPIT-Sichuan is co-organising the show as it will help foster automotive industry development in Sichuan and Southwest China.”

National Association and Regional Pavilions Confirmed

With the Chinese government’s Western Development project and the new Silk Road economic belt, Southwest China is gaining more importance due to its vast market potential.

As the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Zone is China’s leading advanced automobile, key components and commercial vehicle manufacturing base, the China Commercial Vehicle Parts Market Federation will organise a commercial vehicle parts pavilion. Mr Yan Lixing, the Federation Chairman commented:  “Our members will be able to better understand the latest aftermarket information through exhibiting at this quality trade platform.  The show is also a premium platform for strengthening Southwest China’s commercial vehicle aftermarket industry.”

There will also be pavilions fromNingbo, Taizhou, Wenzhou and Yuhuan. The Wenzhou pavilion will feature many leading engine brands including Joinhands, Kaituo, Kangsong, Ossca, Ruili and Songtian. It is supported by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Wenzhou City Committee, the Ruian Automobile & Motorcycle Parts Industry Association, and the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Ruian Sub-Council.

First Edition Show Attracts Many Leading Brands

A number of world famous domestic and international brands including eBay, Hengst, Huirun, Ossca, Ruili, Zhuzhou Torch and ZX Shock have confirmed their attendance at CAPAS due to the show organiser’s strong global network and resources.  In addition, the show is receiving strong support from the China Aftermarket Forum (CAF) and some of its members such as Affinia, BPI, Dayco, Tenneco and Valeo, will exhibit at the show.

World leading parts manufacturer Affinia has been actively expanding its market in China and aim to strengthen their brand image at the show.  Mr Scott Lu, Product Manager for WIX FILTERS for Affinia Trading (Shanghai) Co Ltd said: “The automotive aftermarket in Southwest China offers great potential. We would like to explore more opportunities in this region because the demand for automotive products is strong.”

eBay is the leading global online marketplace for automotive and motorcycle parts and Mr Tao Pang, Business Development Senior Manager for eBay Motors Great China commented: “Southwest China is an emerging market for the automotive industry and is an important region for eBay. There are a lot of eBay sellers from this region who have successful businesses selling automotive parts to the global market.  Therefore, at the show we hope to help manufacturers and suppliers to make use of our platform in order to enter the overseas markets.”

CAPAS is expected tomore than 20,000 trade visitors and 700 exhibitors who will showcase their full range of automotive OE and aftermarket products and services in three halls covering an exhibition space of 35,000 sqm.
