Standox VOC-Xtreme-Plus Clear K9600 Coming To ANZ

Standox will add the new Standocryl VOC-Xtreme-Plus Clear K9600 to its Xtreme System in Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) in October. Using Axalta’s patented fast-cure low-energy technology, the company says K9600 was specially developed for drying at low temperatures, drying within 10 to 15 minutes at 40°C or in 30 to 55 minutes at 20°C. Once cooled after forced drying, it can be polished immediately.

Axalta says VOC-Xtreme-Plus Clear K9600 provides many other benefits such as excellent filling power, allowing smaller specks and dust particles to be easily covered, as well as very good overspray absorption, making it perfect for easy blending. The product can be applied in 1.5 or two coats.

“Our VOC-Xtreme-Plus Clear K9600 is perfect for body shops that want efficient application, which have high throughput and which also want to reduce their operating costs,” said Jim Iliopoulos, Product & Technical Manager, ANZ.

To take full advantage of the new clear, Axalta says body shops should use the entire Xtreme System, including Standoblue Basecoat, VOC-Xtreme Wet-on-Wet Filler U7650, VOC-Xtreme Filler U7600 and Express Prep Wipes U3000. When used as part of the system, Standoblue Basecoat no longer needs to be activated under this new clear, simplifying the process for the refinisher.

According to Axalta, the Xtreme System’s strength is that it provides optimal balance between energy savings and throughput. At low temperatures, energy consumption can be reduced by up to 70 per cent. On the other hand, body shops can use the Xtreme System to reduce the time required for a standard repair – including flash-off and drying times – to around one hour, enabling higher throughput and making small repairs more profitable.

“We are offering Standox customers a solution for particularly fast and energy-efficient repairs that they can trust – for perfect, high-gloss results,” said Iliopoulos.
