Specialist paintless dent repair (PDR) supplier Smart PDR Tools will hold a special event this March to celebrate the opening of its new store in Underwood, Queensland.
As part of the week-long celebration which starts today, Smart PDR Tools said it will offer a range of equipment at special prices, free gifts with purchases over $500, and lucky door prizes each day throughout the week. The celebration will end with an ‘industry tech meetup’ and free barbeque on Saturday 20 March.
“The industry tech meetup is a fantastic opportunity for people thinking about getting into the industry, because they can talk to people who have been in the game for a while. They will be able to understand how it all works,” said Smart PDR Tools’ Anthony Carroll.
Carroll said the company is Australia’s largest distributor of paintless dent repair tools, accessories and glue pulling repair tools. The business stocks equipment from more than 30 of the world’s leading manufacturers, including Dentcraft, Pro PDR Solutions, Keco, Ultra Dent, Carbon Tech, Carepoint, and Edgy Tools.
The company began trading less than five years ago after Carroll was encouraged to start the business by friend and long-time PDR specialist Michael Cross from Smart Repair Australia. Over a short period of time, the company experienced rapid growth.
“We started by selling equipment from a trailer and visiting hail centres around the country, but when Sydney had a bad storm a couple of years ago, we made the decision to open up the shop in [Western Sydney suburb] Prestons,” said Carroll. “Then, in November last year, we processed over 300 online orders and about 95 per cent of those were from Queensland, so it was a natural progression to expand interstate.”
Carroll said that while the company’s customer base is predominantly made up of sole traders, an increasing number of panel shops are looking to join the PDR sector.
“More and more panel shops are starting to look at PDR in a much more serious light than they did five years ago, so we expect to see growth with those customers,” he added.
