Significant Branding At The Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 For 3M

3M is extremely excited to reveal that is has signed a significant branding opportunity with the V8 Supercars Group and have secured all branding and signage at Sulman Park at this week’s Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000. For those of you who aren’t familiar with the Mount Panorama Circuit, Sulman Park is positioned right between “The Cutting” and “Skyline” and is one of the most popular camp sites for diehard fans over the course of the weekend which provides additional and valuable exposure for 3M to our automotive fans. Drivers have to navigate their way through the dangers of Hell Corner, the steep climb at 250 kilometres per hour at Mountain Straight and the narrow room and steep gradients at The Cutting before reaching Sulman Park which sits 862m above sea level and has the highest point of the track making for extremely nail biting viewing.

Some race history around Sulman Park includes:

• The legendary Peter Brock had his first major prang at the mountain at Sulman Park which saw him and his Holden Racing Team VP Commodore out of contention on lap 138 of the 1994 Tooheys 1000.
• Jason Bright crashed his Ford Falcon during a practise session of the 1998 FAI 1000 before barely getting his car back together in time for the main race and going on to win the event with Steven Richards.
• Sulman was unfortunately also the scene of a fatal crash during a support race in 2006 which claimed the life of Mark Porter.

The 3M branding at Sulman Park is expected to receive over 530 TV exposures and 22 minutes of exposure time during this week’s big race. You will see 3M barrier fence signage along each side of the track which will be complemented with trackside billboards throughout this section of the circuit which provides outstanding exposure to the 3M brand throughout the weekend.

In addition to sponsoring Sulman Park, 3M will again be featured on the Erebus V8 Supercars so keep an eye out for those 3M headlights as they come flying around Forrest’s Elbow and down Conrod Straight. Lastly, the 3M crew will also be on site up the mountain for the duration of the event as it host the Bathurst 1000 Winners in the Erebus Private Suite directing above Pit Straight. 3M Congratulates again the team at Wayne Davies Smash in Perth and its valued channel partner Robayne who won the promotion. The 3M guests are expected to have a weekend full of high octane action and money can’t buy experiences that include lunch with the drivers, pit tours and plenty of behind the scene activities.

As a special Bathurst social media promotion, 3M is giving away 4 copies of Chip Foose’s Season 8 Overhaulin’ DVD’s that have been personally signed by the man himself as well as some Aussie muscle car sketches drawn and signed by Foose. Check out 3M’s Facebook page for details on how you can win one of these for your collection.
