The SAPE Group has acquired NSW Central Coast automotive refinishing supplier Peninsula Paint Supplies.
Peninsula Paint Supplies was founded in 1992 initially as a Wattyl-Spartan distributor, and in 1999 became a Glasurit distributor, adding to its existing portfolio of premium brands. In June 2011, the business relocated to larger premises at West Gosford to accommodate anticipated business growth and the planned expansion of its distribution network.
Tom Dabbs, owner of Peninsula Paint Supplies, said the company’s team is thrilled to be part of SAPE.
“They are a people business as much as anything else, considering good relationships as central to their business model,” he said. “This means that customers are in safe hands, now and in the future. I firmly believe that exciting times are ahead of us and the SAPE team will breathe new life into the coast’s collision repair industry.”
“We are very pleased to have concluded negotiations to acquire Peninsula Paints and are really looking forward to welcoming Tom and his team into the wider SAPE family,” said SAPE Director Paul McMartin. “They run an incredible business with the highest of standards – a perfect fit with our ethos and current vision for the company.
“SAPE’s acquisition strengthens our ability to help customers by providing competitive prices due to scale effects, as well as an expansive portfolio of state-of-the-art collision repair equipment sourced from all corners of the globe. Add to that our technical expertise, training facilities and an extensive network of support and you’ll appreciate they’re in safe hands,” McMartin added.
Peninsula Paint Supplies will now operate under the trading name SAPE Gosford, and is located at Unit 2, 373 Manns Road, West Gosford.
With the acquisition of Peninsula Paint Supplies, the SAPE Group now has operations in Sydney, Newcastle, Gosford, Canberra, Brisbane and the Gold Coast, as well as through affiliate and reseller channels in other parts of Australia and New Zealand.
