Saint-Gobain has congratulated Mercedes Gaida, the May 2021 winner of the Norton Prep-It competition.
Gaida is a 2nd year apprentice attending Kangan Institute in Victoria and is employed by Royans Truck and Trailer Repairs.
The runner up for May is Dean Hutchinson, a 3rd year apprentice also from Kangan Institute and employed by Barker Trailers.
Entries are now open for the June competition. The Saint-Gobain Prep It apprentice competition is designed to showcase the preparation work that goes unseen below automotive paintwork.
Saint-Gobain is encouraging automotive refinish apprentices to enter images of work pieces or vehicles they have repaired or prepared using sanding and polishing skills learned as an apprentice.
The competition is open to all enrolled automotive refinish apprentices in Australia, with monthly entries closing at 11:59pm on the 28th day of each month until December 2021.
Each month Saint-Gobain will judge the best vehicle or parts prepared using Norton products, with the monthly winner to receive a $200 gift card while four runners-up will each receive a $50 gift card. All entries received throughout the year will go into the grand prize draw to win a $2000 gift card and a set of Norton Automotive Body Repair Preparation kits (panel kit, paint kit and polish kit). Second prize is a $500 gift card and third prize a $250 gift card, with the total prize pool being $7800.
Students can enter the Saint-Gobain Prep It competition at this page, which also lists full competition details along with terms and conditions. The page has an ‘enter now’ button which will open an email when clicked. Entrants need to complete the pre-populated questions on the email and attach two photos.
The first photo should be of the work piece or vehicle that the entrant has sanded or prepared. Saint-Gobain says the competition is being judged by photographs so the better the photo, the better the chance to win. Multiple images of the work piece or vehicle can be sent.
The second photo should be of the work piece or vehicle with the product used and entrant standing next to the entry.
Winners of the monthly prizes will be announced on the final day of each month of the promotion period on the Norton Abrasives Automotive Pacific Facebook page.
The major prize draw will take place at 1:00pm on Friday 21 January 2022 using a barrel/bucket draw. The winner of the major prize draw will be published on the Norton Abrasives Automotive Pacific Facebook page on 25 January 2022.
Winning entrants will be notified by email and/or telephone within 48 hours of the draw/selection.
