RUPES To Open New Factory In Houston, Texas

RUPES has announced the expansion of its manufacturing capabilities in North America with the addition of a new 3700-square-metre operation in Houston, Texas. The facility, due to open in December, will serve as a dedicated consumables hub with the capacity to manufacture, package and ship RUPES polishing pads and compounds.

The near-term plan is for the facility to service all the consumables needs of customers located in North America, but it may expand scope to help service other markets. RUPES said this establishes the company as the only manufacturer of polishing pads with factory locations on two continents, providing increased flexibility and insulation from the logistics challenges that have plagued many companies of late.

The “state-of-the-art” facility adds to the RUPES dedicated North American manufacturing network, joining the Colorado headquarters where production of electric and pneumatic tools began in 2016.

“Our Houston operation demonstrates how serious we are about our commitment to the US, Canada, and beyond,” said Rob Volkert, CEO of RUPES USA. “Manufacturing and shipping our pads from Houston means we have significantly improved our ability to meet the demands of our customers here, while also taking some of the burden from our Italian factories. Without having to produce for the USA, they can focus production on the rest of the global network of RUPES consumers.”

RUPES said the two US manufacturing centres demonstrate the company’s commitment to global growth and being a true vertically integrated manufacturer with control of all components of its polishing and sanding systems.
