MTA NSW Secures Government Funding Support For Automotive Courses

The Motor Traders’ Association of New South Wales is calling on all state automotive professionals and trainees to take advantage of new government funding available for automotive courses.

The industry body said it secured partial government funding for a range of Certificate II and III automotive courses following lobbying in its NSW State Budget submission.

Eligible students can receive up to 80 per cent off (up to $2,000) on select courses through the Entitlement Funding Qualification. The initiative aims to address the automotive industry’s skills shortage, particularly in areas such as auto electrical, which the MTA said is highly sought after and high on Australia’s skilled occupation list.

The courses are open to everyone and not exclusive to MTA members. However, funding is limited and interested applicants must enrol by 20 June to take advantage of the substantial discounts.

Stavros Yallouridis, CEO of the MTA NSW, said the discounted courses provide an exceptional opportunity for people aspiring to join the automotive industry, as well as seasoned professionals who want to expand their skills.

“Automotive businesses in particular can leverage these courses to invest in their team’s growth without significant financial strain, boosting productivity and even creating new revenue streams,” he said.
