IAG’s Top Lawyer And Company Secretary Terminated Over Misconduct Claim

IAG has ended the employment of Peter Horton, Group General Counsel and Company Secretary, with immediate effect, over an alleged workplace behaviour breach.

“The company has concluded that Mr Horton’s behaviour has fallen short of the expectations in IAG’s employee code of ethics and conduct,’ said Nick Hawkins, IAG Managing Director and CEO. “This includes the importance of being inclusive and respectful, and we will hold people to account if they fail to meet these expectations.”

Prior to joining IAG in 2019, Horton was Executive Manager Legal, Governance and Risk at TransGrid, Group General Counsel and Company Secretary at both QBE Insurance and Woolworths, and General Manager Legal and Company Secretary at WMC Resources.

IAG said a search for a replacement for Horton will commence shortly.
