Adam Balarin has been appointed Executive General Manager (EGM) for Insurance Supply Chain at IAG’s Direct Insurance Australia (DIA), effective 11 April 2022. The appointment marks the completion of DIA’s Leadership Team.
IAG said Balarin will be responsible for the transformation of the company’s insurance supply chain to deliver a better claims experience to customers across Australia and align the group, its strategic partners, and external industry stakeholders across the automotive and home repair industries.
DIA reportedly holds the largest share in direct personal insurance in Australia, with approximately 4.8 million customers and 8.6 million insurance policies.
“[Balarin’s] knowledge and experience will ensure we deliver additional value through our supply chain and adjacencies, both of which are critical to our growth ambitions,” said IAG Group Executive for DIA, Julie Batch.
Balarin previously worked as Vice President Operations of Genpact, where he was responsible for leading the company’s consumer goods, retail, life sciences, and healthcare businesses. Before this appointment, he spent two decades leading Unilever’s supply chain operations in countries including Australia, Singapore, Vietnam, Thailand, the UK and South Africa.
