I-CAR USA’s Scott Kaboos Joins CRE 2024 Training Programme

Scott Kaboos, the OEM Technical Relations Lead at I-CAR USA, will appear at next week’s Collision Repair Expo.

Kaboos has decades of experience working as a structural repair technician, general manager, and college instructor for collision repair and refinish. He also spent five years with American Honda developing its collision repair technical and training programme.

He will present three expo sessions focused on a variety of advanced collision repair topics:

  • The ‘Static ADAS Calibration, Challenges and Pitfalls’ session will explore the common pitfalls when performing static ADAS calibrations and how I-CAR helps workshops overcome these challenges.
  • The ‘Mixed Attachment Methods For Steel Panel Replacement And Sectioning’ session will delve into complex repair procedures requiring multiple attachment methods, equipment and skills that may be needed to replace a single panel. Kaboos will discuss these procedures and how to attain the skills required for efficient, quality repairs.
  • The ‘Measuring, Anchoring And Pulling’ session will discuss how 3D measuring is critical to understanding structural deviation and how proper anchoring is necessary to avoid creating additional damage. The presentation will also explore how, in many cases, repairers are pulling to replace instead of pulling to repair due to the use of different strength materials in vehicle construction.

Kaboos will join international speakers Dirk Fuchs, an EV and hybrid technology specialist, and Robert Snook, an award-winning business coach, as part of the expo’s collision repair training programme.

Fuchs’ free-to-attend sessions are ‘Prepare your Workshop for Electrification’, ‘EV Battery Handling and Service in Collision Repair’, and ‘EV System Repair and Component Replacement’. He will also host a ticketed four-hour half-day training programme called ‘Electric / Hybrid Vehicle Awareness’, featuring an overview of EV system principles, high voltage electric system hazards and safe EV working.

Snook will host two seminars: ‘Solving the People Puzzle – Attracting, Recruiting, Developing and Retaining a Team Fit for the Future’, and ‘Open Your Business Revenue Stream and Step Off the Hamster Wheel’.

The Collision Repair Expo and co-located Australian Auto Aftermarket Expo will take place from 11 to 13 April 2024 at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre.
