I-CAR Announces Gold Class For Smart Repair Australia

Smart Repair Australia has been awarded I-CAR Gold Class Collision status after staff members from the Bayswater site in Victoria met the training requirements needed to achieve accreditation.

Although Smart Repair Australia is primarily a hail damage repair company specialising in PDR, it also performs panel repair, replacement, and refinishing activities. Having full time designated staff members to complete these tasks allowed I-CAR to develop a personalised training programme covering all aspects of conventional repair.

I-CAR said Smart Repair Australia staff attended numerous courses to meet the requirements, including body technicians who completed I-CAR steel welding certification courses.

“We have always been a big supporter of I-CAR training and with the constant increase in vehicle technology and value gained from professional development, it was an easy decision to join the Road to Gold Program,” said Greg Elliott, General Manager of Smart Repair Australia.

“The variety of training delivery methods I-CAR offer is definitely a big plus in this area, especially the online learning platforms as they make work-training coordination a lot easier now. Most of the courses we completed were virtual classrooms and done together as a group. We also look forward to doing more online courses soon during our Gold Class renewal training. Axalta have also been brilliant for us with relevant training and development of our paint shop staff.”

Elliott said his team was supportive of the training and appreciative of the investment in their careers. “A lot of our staff have already been asking about when the next courses will be and are excited to be able to start having more of a say in what courses they feel are best suited to them,” Elliott added.
