I-CAR Announces Gold Class For Lower Mountain Smash Repairs

I-CAR Australia has awarded I-CAR Gold Class Collision status to Lower Mountain Smash Repairs, located in Blaxland, New South Wales.

“We committed to the Road to Gold programme primarily to keep up to date with the ever-changing requirements in repairing a modern motor vehicle, and investing in training for my staff was the best way to give us the knowledge required,” said Warwick Atkinson, Managing Director of Lower Mountain Smash Repairs.

“The Road to Gold programme was an easy process from start to finish and being able to have some flexibility when it came to training methods was greatly appreciated. We were able to do the majority of the required points through online virtual classroom courses, with a mixture of inside and outside business hour sessions to assist in the scheduling.

“Also, the help of BASF and baslac in the Industry Training Alliance programme for our paint shop staff was extremely beneficial and they were always available to assist with new refinish technologies.”

Atkinson said staff feedback was positive and, overall, it was a great experience as the training allowed them to become better technicians.

“The most rewarding aspect of achieving Gold Class accreditation was the Platinum Individual recognition for my staff, who attained a higher level of competency in their chosen profession,” he added.

“I would recommend this training programme to other businesses as it will help the industry move with the times when it comes to training new and experienced staff.

We plan to continue providing our customers with quality repairs done correctly and use the training I-CAR taught to keep up to date on current methods of repair.”

Lower Mountain Smash Repairs began its Road to Gold programme in May this year. The team of five technicians quickly progressed to achieve Gold Class within four months.

I-CAR congratulated the business on achieving Gold Class accreditation.

“Warwick was very organised and the efforts of keeping on top of the training schedule led to the business swiftly achieving Gold Class status,” said Gary Wood, I-CAR Australia Senior Technical Specialist. “Their diligence is recognised in their work and this status is well deserved.”
