ANCAP has expanded the number of top safety-rated models in the popular medium SUV segment after extending the existing five-star rating for the Haval H6 to cover hybrid variants.
According to ANCAP, two additional crash tests were performed on H6 hybrid variants, with comparable high levels of safety performance observed.
“This has enabled the existing five-star ANCAP safety rating published earlier this year for petrol variants to be extended to H6 hybrid models,” said ANCAP Chief Executive Officer Carla Hoorweg.
“The broadening of the five-star ANCAP safety rating to H6 hybrid variants provides additional choice for those in the market for a safe vehicle with a hybrid drivetrain,” Hoorweg added.
The safety performance of the soon-to-arrive Haval H6 GT was also assessed, with the five-star ANCAP safety rating to apply to the vehicle.
