Glasurit Partners With WorldSkills Australia To Support Emerging Talent In Spray Painting

Glasurit has teamed up with the WorldSkills Global Skills Challenge in Australia, where emerging spray-painting technicians from around the globe will showcase their skills in preparation for the 2024 WorldSkills International competition in Lyon, France.

The Global Skills Challenge serves as a platform for young professionals to demonstrate and test their expertise in automotive refinishing. The Glasurit team will provide training and materials support to participants, helping them hone their skills and prepare for the international competition.

According to BASF, the partnership underscores Glasurit’s sponsorship of the WorldSkills International car painting competition and its commitment to talent development, as well as promoting excellence in the automotive industry.

“BASF are passionate about supporting emerging talent in the automotive industry and we believe that events like the Global Skills Challenge are instrumental in nurturing the next generation of spray-painting professionals. We are proud to be a part of that journey,” said Kishen Khosa, Head of Coatings ANZ at BASF.

Participants from Japan, Korea, the United Arab Emirates, Chinese Taipei and Australia will use the latest range of Glasurit AraClass EcoBalance products and Glasurit’s 100 Line basecoat system to prepare for the WorldSkills International competition, taking place in September.

“We can’t wait to welcome this huge cohort of competitors to Australia for what should be an electric four days of heated but friendly competition,” said Trevor Schwenke, CEO of WorldSkills Australia. “With the international competition fast approaching, this event will give competitors a chance to size up their opponents, experience the thrill and pressure of a WorldSkills competition, and make some new friends along the way.”
