Equip Auto Paris Almost Fully Subscribed As Event Responds To Industry Change

Equip Auto Paris 2022 says it has booked nearly all its exhibition space, with 95 per cent of the 80,000 square-metre area secured for the event. The organiser forecasts around 1000 brands – 35 per cent of them first-timers and 25 per cent from outside of France – will be on show, with an expected 80,000 visitors also set to attend.

“We are delighted with the way this 26th edition of Equip Auto Paris has been received,” said Philippe Baudin, Chairman of Equip Auto. “The feedback from exhibitors on the programme is very encouraging and confirms the choices we have made with a view to bringing together a wide range of players, representative of what our automotive and mobility industry is today and will be tomorrow.”

Traditionally an event for the aftermarket supply and procurement industry, global economic disruption and industry evolution prompted Equip Auto to include companies operating within the connected mobility services, zero-carbon transition, digital technology, and automated driving sectors.

“Between an economic recovery that did not meet the expectations of the automotive industry, a public health and geopolitical environment that is putting the functioning of companies [in all sectors combined] to the test, and societal changes that are calling into question our customs, no one can deny that the aftersales sector will have to face new challenges,” Equip Auto said. “More than ever, Equip Auto Paris plays a key role in helping its exhibitors recover and preparing them for the challenges of tomorrow. The entire industry is undergoing profound change, so it is time to diversify, and for the Paris show, this means opening up more widely.”

Consequently, the exhibition will offer a wider range of content, allocating more space to the promotion of innovation and encouraging greater interaction based on four themes: Circular Economy, Technological Innovations, Energy Transition And Maintenance, and The Professionals of the Future.

In addition to product and service displays, Equip Auto Paris 2022 will host four forums:

  • ‘Ecological Transition And Sustainability Economy
  • Technological Innovations: “Automotive Maintenance Tomorrow”
  • Energy Transition / Electric Vehicles: “An Industry In The Midst Of A Revolution”
  • Tomorrow’s Professionals: “Recruiting, Training, Transmitting… The Major Challenges”

“Three years have passed since the last edition of Equip Auto Paris. Since then, our industry has continued to evolve, particularly on the subject of connected mobility,” Baudin said. “Based on our conviction that innovation is of paramount importance for the automotive aftermarket, we have decided to make it the main topic of the show in order to support people’s mobility, fulfil their need to connect with their environment and enable the emergence of new markets and the economic growth of the automotive industry.”

Baudin said the event had to devise a rich, comprehensive programme of content conducive to the business of its professional audience.

“Today, there is no doubt that this programme has hit the mark, given the presence of historic players and new market entrants, thus confirming Equip Auto Paris’ status as a 100 per cent business exhibition and contributing to making it a structural pillar of Paris Automotive Week,” Baudin said.

Equip Auto will be held at the Paris Expo Porte de Versailles from 18 to 22 October.
