Cromax, one of the global refinish brands of Axalta Coating Systems, has introduced a new product to its Imron Fleet Line range, Carbon Fibre Sealer U190. According to Axalta, the product offers an innovative extension for passenger and commercial vehicle repairers as it is a polyurethane-based, transparent pore filler specially developed for application on all types of carbon fibre products.
“The new Carbon Fibre Sealer U190 gives repairers the opportunity to increase their productivity whilst extending their offering,” said Jim Iliopoulos, Product and Technical Manager for Axalta ANZ. “The two-component system reduces process steps and material consumption coupled with easy application. Refinishers can then choose to air dry or to oven bake, and there is the added benefit that it can be over-coated with EL500 clear coat in just one pass.”
Axalta says Carbon Fibre Sealer U190 has been developed especially for industrial use and is suitable for many carbon fibre parts, including automotive ancillaries and accessories. The company recommends that it be used in combination with Imron Fleet Line Industry PUR Activator EV316 Fast.
“Carbon fibre is incredibly porous so in order to ensure a smooth surface while keeping the unique look of carbon fibre, the use of Carbon Fibre Sealer U190 is key,” added Iliopoulos.
