Chip Foose presented a Color Matching demonstration during NACE 2015 utilising the latest from 3M Collision Repair, Color Match Film. 3M™ PPS™ Color Match Film brings a new level of flexibility, and accuracy to one of the most difficult challenges in shops today; achieving the perfect colour match. 3M™ PPS™ Color Match Film allows users to spray the Film exactly as they would a traditional spray out card (metal, paper/cardboard, or plastic), then peel the Film from its backing and stick it to the substrate (e.g. bumper, fender, vehicle). Once attached, the technician is free to stand back and view the Film from any angle using the 3M™ SUN GUN™ II colour matching light.
Because the film conforms to contours, it offers enhanced side-tone capabilities and a more-accurate representation of how the colour would appear once applied. Another variable in colour matching; your own eyes! With the film conformed to the vehicle and the technician looking from several angles, PPS™ Color Match Film helps prevent these types of problems.
