Axalta Supports Training Services NSW’s Career Event For Female Students

Axalta Coating Systems recently participated in a new Training Services NSW programme called ‘EmpowerHER’, which is designed to introduce female school students to a range of different trades through a speed networking event with industry partners.

The programme allows female students the opportunity to hear from other women who have forged successful careers in trades and gain ‘hands-on’ experience to further spark their interest in a trade career.

The first event was held at Chester Hill High School in NSW on 2 March, where up to 40 high school girls spent time with the Axalta team, trying their skills at virtual spray-painting, taking spectrophotometer readings, and other refinish-related activities.

Axalta says it will support similar events scheduled at other south-western Sydney schools later in the month. The company aims to have a female spray-painter on hand to discuss career opportunities in the refinish industry.
