Autopromotec’s International Workshop Programme Expands

Autopromotec 2022 will introduce a round of six workshops known as IAM (International Aftermarket Meetings), designed to involve participants from various automotive aftermarket supply chains around the world.

Offering more content and opportunities to network, Autopromotec said IAM will have a global nature with a European focus, putting the spotlight on the most relevant issues and bringing the main participants together for a series of in-depth meetings.

Autopromotec said IAM is based on its extensive international reach and close relationships with all sector associations, representing a natural evolution of the International Aftermarket Meeting held during previous editions of the event.

Organised with the help of the European Garage Equipment Association (EGEA) and the main national and international trade associations, the workshops will be held during the first two days of Autopromotec 2022 (25 to 26 May). Autopromotec said the meetings will cover central issues for the post-pandemic automotive world and offer all supply chain organisations an opportunity to gain information and share experiences.

“At Autopromotec, we place great importance on international promotion, which is why we created IAM, a series of international workshops where stakeholders from the various aftermarket supply chains can come together,” said Emanuele Vicentini, International Developments at Autopromotec. “This year, as the trade fair restarts, there is a fundamental need to bring aftermarket specialists together for an occasion focused on analysis, sharing and networking. [Lately], long-distance connections have been essential for staying in touch with your closest network, but it is only at a trade fair that all the various strands of the aftermarket supply chain can meet again.

“Moreover, thanks to the IAM project, Autopromotec 2022 will further boost the arrival of international buyers and decision-makers, also confirming the strategic importance of the event for international [stakeholders].”

Massimo Brunamonti, IAM Scientific Coordinator, explained the aim of the workshops.

“At this historic moment, as we are hoping to emerge from the pandemic and trade fair activities are resuming, keeping up-to-date becomes even more vital and doing so at the highest level is crucial,” Brunamonti said. “This is only possible by listening to, and engaging with, the major players at [the] international level. Operators want to meet again but they need a tangible reason to do so.

“With the IAM workshops, Autopromotec is providing this reason and offering a place for operators to address all, and only those topics that are of real interest to the industry’s business.”

Autopromotec said the first IAM meeting, Access to Data and Free Competition, focuses on access to technical information and onboard vehicle data along with the issue of aftermarket competition, while the second event, the Periodical Technical Inspections Conference, covers elements such as new procedures linked to the latest technologies and change in mobility. IAM’s third meeting, the Global Aftermarket Conference, is dedicated to the automotive aftermarket sector and will analyse the market from a broadened perspective, providing valuable insights into car repair trends, the evolution of the sector and future developments.

The other three workshops will look at components of the future, the new digital workshop, and tyre development.

The English language meetings will be held at the BolognaFiere Exhibition Centre in a designated location on the mezzanine floor between halls 21 and 22. Autopromotec also has a dedicated lounge area in Hall 22 where speakers and association managers can meet.
