Auto Industry Insurance To Use OTM Times Guide

Auto Industry Insurance to Use OTM Times Guide

Auto Industry Insurance has partnered with independent times guide OTM as the organisation continues to prepare for market launch.

The insurer says OTM is Australia’s first independent times guide, which was developed as a “transparent tool” to assist assessment and pricing of automotive repairs. OTM facilitates this by supplying times and allowances for the estimation and procurement of OEM parts for the automotive industry. The OTM platform will give repairers and assessors the same information and an aligned repair process, shortening completion times for claims, authorisations and repairs.

Auto Industry Insurance says OTM is a cloud-based tool that uses the latest vehicle data to determine an accurate repair allowance or time. OTM beta testing began with selected repairers last December to work through the “complexities inherent within the auto industry”.

According to Auto Industry Insurance, OTM partnered with the industry to give all stakeholders a better outcome.

“To improve the claims cycle and get better outcomes for all stakeholders, we need an independent guide for all to use. Particularly as vehicles are increasingly becoming more complex and technically advanced,” said Daniel Johnson, CEO of Automotive Industry Insurance.

“With the OTM, it will reduce the time the vehicles are off the road due to repairs. OTM will be delivered through the Auto Industry Co-op and its members. We have partnered with the Auto Industry Co-op because of its strong connection with all stakeholders in the auto industry.”

Auto Industry Insurance said its values align with those of the Auto Industry Co-op, believing that social responsibility is essential to the insurance and repair process.

“We look forward to supporting the Auto Industry Co-Op and its adoption of OTM by its members nationally to give the consumer better outcomes and returning the car back to manufacturers specification,” said Auto Industry Insurance. “The co-op also wants to ensure that quality and professionalism are maintained throughout the sector for everyone’s benefit.”
