AMA’s Leath Nicholson Appointed General Counsel, Will Leave Board

AMA has announced that Leath Nicholson, current Independent Non-Executive Director, will step down from the Board of Directors to assume the role of outsourced General Counsel to the group.

Reflective of the “significant opportunities” available to the company, AMA said it has engaged with Nicholson’s firm, Nicholson Ryan Lawyers, to retain his services as the outsourced General Counsel. According to AMA, his engagement will allow the business to leverage the “substantial depth and breadth of his understanding of AMA’s history and operations”.

It means Nicholson will step down from his position on the AMA Group Board at the 2021 Annual General Meeting (AGM).

AMA said Nicholson has extensive experience with the group having provided legal counsel from 2009, then joining the Board of Directors in 2015.

“Leath has been an invaluable contributor to the AMA Board over recent years and we are exceptionally grateful that he has agreed to transition off the Board to take up the position as outsourced General Counsel for the Group,” said AMA Group Chairman Anthony Day. “I look forward to continuing to work with Leath in this new capacity.”

AMA said the search for a new Independent Non-Executive Director is underway and an announcement will be made after selection.
