AMA Group Buys Western Truck Repairs

The AMA Group has acquired Western Truck Repairs to further expand its coverage in heavy vehicle repairs and services across Australia.

AMA says it has a national heavy vehicle footprint that brings together the best of the best in quality, expertise and excellence in customer service. Based in Melbourne, Victoria, Western Truck Repairs will now join its other service providers – Wales (NSW), Recar (Victoria and Queensland), Parins (Western Australia) and All Transport (South Australia) – to support the AMA National Heavy Vehicle Repair Network.

Darren Wales, CEO of AMA’s Heavy Vehicle Division, said he was delighted Western will join the group, “bringing their superior craftsmanship from an experienced team of repair professionals”.

“For over 30 years Western has been Victoria’s leading truck repair group, and from myself and our team, we are excited for them to be a part of a quality company like AMA,” said Wales.

“Western will complement our coverage not only in Victoria, but Australia wide. It’s a ‘one-stop-shop’ for truck, bus and coach repairs.”

Phil Purdy, Managing Director at Western Truck Repairs, said the decision to join the AMA Group was not taken lightly.

“What they bring to the heavy vehicle repair industry is second to none in terms of quality and service. [The acquisition] ensures our client base of over 30 years remain the sole focus, for now and many years to come. Myself and our other two directors, Joe Portelli and Erio Mirra, look forward to working with Darren and the whole AMA organisation.”

Wales said AMA has a strong track record of speed and efficiency in delivering operational integration and change across acquisitions, additional sites or new initiatives.

“We are looking forward to welcoming the Western team and they will be a great asset to our business,” said Wales.
