AMA Appoints Caliber Chief Growth Officer, Former AMA Identity Non-Executive Directors

AMA Group has appointed David Goldstein, Chief Growth Officer at US-based Caliber, and Ray Smith-Roberts, a former AMA identity, as independent non-executive directors. The company said both bring “deep and complementary aspects of automotive and collision repair experience to the AMA Group.”

Goldstein brings experience gained from a 30-year career in front line along with C-suite roles at Caliber, one of the world’s most successful collision repair businesses. During this time, Goldstein was instrumental in optimising business processes, driving growth and elevating the customer experience through strategic planning, innovative problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration. Goldstein’s executive roles have included leadership of people, operations and new business at Caliber.

Smith-Roberts’ experience in the Australian automotive industry spans 37 years and includes previous involvement with AMA Group in leadership roles across the accessories and panel businesses, as well as Executive Director. He is currently Managing Director of Creative Conversions, a second-stage vehicle manufacturer. AMA said Smith-Roberts also has significant advocacy and policy influence within the sector.

“The combination of Ray and David brings unparalleled Australian and successful North American market experience to the AMA board,” said AMA Group Chair Caroline Waldron. “They complete our previously announced board renewal and development of a fit-for-purpose board. I am confident that their extensive experience in driving business improvement within the automotive sector will contribute significantly to AMA Group as we enter this next phase of the company’s evolution.”
