IBISTV Global Summit To Replace Flagship Monaco Event

The International Bodyshop Industry Symposium (IBIS) has cancelled its flagship IBIS Global Summit, which was due to run in November in Monaco. Instead, the symposium will now run a single-day online streaming programme titled IBISTV Global Summit.

Having established itself as the world’s leading collision repair conference provider, IBIS had hoped to celebrate 20 years of operation this year with a “spectacular” celebration at the IBIS Global Summit in Monaco in November, having already postponed the event from its original June date as the COVID-19 pandemic spread across the world.

However, with the virus continuing to infect large numbers of people in many countries and governments imposing multiple restrictions on international travellers, organisers said they consulted with industry partners and advisors, deciding not to hold the event physically.

Instead, they will launch IBISTV Global Summit, a four-hour TV programme livestreamed over the internet on 19 November.

According to IBIS, it will take the format of a “business magazine programme” and be fronted by a “well-known television journalist”, featuring much of the “thought leadership content” originally planned for the Monaco event. IBIS says it will be delivered through an “engaging set of studio-based features, outside broadcasts and documentary style packages”, with some special items in store to recognise and continue the celebrations of the symposium’s 20th anniversary.

No more details have been announced at this stage, but IBIS promises further announcements on its website and social media feeds as the event takes shape over the coming weeks and months.
