6041 MaxMeyer Plastic Primer Converter Launched In Australia

Available now in Australia from Protec distributors, Protec says that 6041 MaxMeyer Plastic Primer Converter removes a whole step from the refinish process, providing a handy productivity boost by increasing repair speed and slashing cycle time.

According to PPG, the primer converter works with all commonly used plastics as well as conventional metal panels. This eliminates the traditional method of applying an adhesion promotor to plastic components and letting it flash off before applying primer.

When preparing MaxMeyer VOC HP Wet-On-Wet Primer for a job that includes plastic components, Protec says to substitute the required amount of thinner with an equivalent amount of 6041 MaxMeyer Plastic Primer Converter. After adding the recommended hardener, the primer formulation can be applied over plastics and other recommended substrates, including e-coat panels, in the usual manner and cured as normal.

Protec adds that in addition to deleting an entire step from the refinish process, 6041 MaxMeyer Plastic Primer Converter is easy to use, leaves little room for error and, as it replaces thinner, reduces material costs.
