48th Victorian Hot Rod Show

The 48th annual Victorian Hot Rod Show, Australia’s longest running hot rod event, is returning to Melbourne’s Royal Exhibition Building in Carlton Gardens, with hundreds of show-stopping hot rods, custom cars and bikes on display both within and around the iconic building.

The event is a great way to spend the day out with family and friends, with something available for all, including a large variety of trade stands and a colouring competition for the kids.

Returning from last year will be the climactic Holden vs. Ford showdown on the Saturday and Muscle Cars on the Sunday.

The 2013 Victorian Hot Rod Show will be expanding to four days from the previous three, to cover the full Australia Day long weekend and cater for the increased demand at last year’s show.

Show manager Peter Unsworth expects that the show will provide visitors an opportunity to reminisce about the past, enjoy the present, and look into the future of Hot Rodding.

“Inside they will find an incredible display of stunning hot rods, wild street machines, unique customs and some unbelievable motorbikes,” said Peter. “We’ve got cars coming from all over Australia; this is a truly national hot rod showcase.

“Hot rods have a universal appeal, appreciated by all ages, regardless of whether you are a car enthusiast or not. It’s just hard not to be impressed by these machines and the many hours the owners put into building them. The Victorian Hot Rod Show is just a lot of fun for the whole family.”
