3M Launches New Collision Repair Academy

3M’s Collision Repair Academy has officially launched in Australia and New Zealand. The academy offers “cutting-edge” educational content to painters, body shop technicians, and students in automotive repair technical schools to develop skills which increase productivity and efficiency.

3M said it offers 21 free courses ranging from “tips and tricks” in body filler repair and restoration to achieving cost savings with 3M’s signature spray gun. Participants can also learn about 3M’s signature in-class standard operating processes, customised to Australia’s practices and trends.

Professionals and students are invited to register to receive 24/7 access to content, including live webinars, tutorials, and ‘bite-sized’ videos, crafted by 3M experts from around the world.

Upon completion of each course, participants will receive accreditation listed on their personal academy dashboard.

Courses include:

  • Performance Spray Gun for Collision Repair: Shows how combining the 3M Performance Spray Gun and PPS produces the results needed for critical coatings, while limiting exposure to cleaning solvents
  • Weld Sealing and Bonding: Explores the combination of squeeze-type resistance spot welds with 3M adhesives and seam sealers to provide the ultimate in strength and corrosion resistance
  • Paint Finishing and Detail: Showcases several techniques for removing defects with minimal disruption of orange peel to match OEM appearance.
